Glee Charlestream, Director and Conductor

Music Training

Dr. Dounis was one of the most influential violin pedagogues of the twentieth century. His fame among violinists is based on the fact that he consulted with many of the major artists of his era and helped them through playing problems with his medical knowledge of how the body works best in playing the violin. Dr. Priscilla Hallburg was a student of George Neikrug, who was considered D. C. Dounis’s chief disciple.

ChoralExcellence training videos for singers and conductors are sold worldwide.

Performances and Conducting in Youth Groups and Programs

Charlestream performed and traveled internationally with the ensemble for ten years. Performances took place in world-famous venues, including Notre Dame and Chartres Cathedral and the Fontainebleau School Of Music and Fine Arts in France; the Karlskirche in Vienna; and cathedrals in York, Leeds, and St. Giles in Great Britain. During these tours, the NEYE performed for famous personalities such as the former president of the United States, Gerald Ford, and the world-famous composer and teacher, Nadia Boulanger, who was present and sitting in the front row during the concert at the Fontainebleau School Of Music and Fine Arts. Later, his four children became soloists with the orchestra, which included performances at Carnegie Hall.

VSYC was a performance singing group consisting of homeschooled youth from Northern New England and students from Central Vermont Academy. The age range of this chorale was from 6th grade through high school. VSYC recorded a professional digital audio CD in the spring of 2013.

Present
